When it comes to safety one can never be to careful. A moonshine still should never build pressure and in the event that something got plugged or badly restricted bad things might happen.
Install one of these simple pop-off valves in your column and if pressure did build for some unknown reason the device would quickly open to vent pressure alerting you to a unforeseen problem before it got out of hand.
The pressure relief is set at 14.5 psi, or 1 bar. To install you drill a small hole in your column, insert the pop-off then attach the nut on the inside. Get one and be safe!
