Copper Proofing Parrot - w/Drain
Copper Proofing Beak (Parrot) This tool is for moonshiners who are serious about the ABV production of their spirits. Ours is 12" overall length of the body tube which is a full 1" in diameter. We make the body tube larger than most so you won't get hydraulic effect applied to your proofing hygrometer thus eliminating false readings. We silver-braze all the tension points for durability and long life.
Built-in parrot drain. If you're making your cuts and ready to switch from heads to hearts, you need to drain the nasty stuff from the parrot before moving forward. Just open the built in drain at the bottom of the parrot for a second or two and get back to brewing without tainting the hearts.
We hand-craft these parrots and they use a 1/2 down-tube as shown. A union is not included but may be added per your request. The parrot attaches directly to your secondary condenser. A proofing parrot actually gets its name from the shape of the assembly, which resembles a bird with a large beak.
Each of our parrots is hand-crafted one-at-a-time at our facility right here in the USA. That allows us strict quality control unlike some who farm-out their components. We consider this a special order item and as such we make these as needed so expect some delay before your parrot is shipped. Please be patient, you won't be disappointed.
